Visit your state's Department of Insurance website to book your fingerprinting appointment at an approved scanning facility. Complete this critical step on the same day you enroll in your course to prevent licensing delays down the road. Most states require this clearance before issuing your license, so don't wait.

Complete your required pre-licensing education through Xcel Testing Solutions (see the flyer below) to meet state requirements. This comprehensive online course covers all essential life and health insurance concepts you'll need for exam success. Use your agency's discount code during enrollment to save on tuition costs.

Book Your Test Date to Create Accountability
Use your state's DOI website to schedule your Life/Health Exam exam from 2-3 weeks from today through PSI (or your state's testing provider). Having a specific deadline on the calendar will motivate focused studying and keep you on track. Choose an in-person testing location for the best exam experience and fewer technical issues.
To register for your state insurance exam with PSI, visit this website and create a new account HERE.
- Click either Create an account or register for an examination.
- You will select Government or State Agencies.
- Select what state you are getting the resident license in.
- Classification: All (State) Department of Insurance Exams.
- Register for the Life and Health/Disability Combo.
-Select your testing date. It's recommended you take the test in person and not remotely.

Complete your final requirement and celebrate your success
Arrive prepared and well-rested to complete your Life and Health/Disability combination exam. You'll receive your pass/fail results immediately upon completion. Bring valid government-issued ID and arrive 15 minutes early to your testing center.

If you pass: Take a moment to share the good news with us and celebrate! 🎉 Then immediately apply through NIPR.com and upload your exam results. The state will connect your application with your background check results to issue your official license. You'll typically receive your license number within 7-14 business days after all requirements are met.
